Story, lifestyle and tips from my perspective. Me blurbing about everything important or the tea that I sip today!
the mara remembered.
Lunch under an acacia with a thieving bird, laughter with Maasai children, and dinner by firelight—this was the day the Mara gave us more than sights. It gave us connection, wild and unforgettable.
into the heart of maasai mara.
After hours on Kenya’s bumpiest road, we reached Maasai Mara just in time for golden hour. Giraffes glided across the plains, zebras striped the horizon, and on the rocks lay a lion, mane burning in the setting sun. That night, under a sky full of stars and the distant call of hyenas, we knew — the adventure had only just begun.
nakuru — merdeka morning, safari beginnings.
On Merdeka morning, Lake Nakuru came alive: zebras in the grass, giraffes swaying above the trees, flamingos painting the lake pink, and rhinos moving like ancient tanks. We ended at Makalia Falls, the roar of water echoing freedom itself, before heading back to rest — hearts full, ready for the Mara.
kampala — a city of chaos and charm.
From snoring “like a rhino” at Villa Acacia to clinging for life on boda bodas, Kampala was chaos wrapped in charm. We climbed the Gaddafi Mosque for a citywide mural of rooftops and smoke, laughed through the Kasubi Tombs’ strange traditions, and watched Ida bargain the craft market into surrender. A city that tests you, shakes you, and still leaves you wanting more.
journey into east africa: first leg of the adventure.
My first test came the moment I landed in Nairobi. What followed was a blur of laughter with friends, dragging a suitcase that refused to be left behind, and a 22-hour bus ride to Kampala that turned into a saga of heat, traffic, and border “fines.” It wasn’t the safari I had imagined—but it was the beginning of an adventure I’ll never forget.
